Gouda's Technical Centre is conducting Quality Control and Research and Development in the area of refractory materials.
The activities are directed to our customer requirements.
It searches for the best refractory solutions for the specific high temperature processes of the industry. In several cases very specific solutions are developed.

The activities include:

	Development of high grade refractories
	Production Quality Control
	Support activities for installation methods
	Customer process understanding and support
	Training

The following test facilities are available:

	apparent and true density		chemical analysis by XRF
	apparent and true porosity		mineralogical analysis by XRD
	cold crushing strenght		modulus of rupture at elevated temperatures
	permeability		refractoriness under load
	particle size distribution		creep under compression
	workability		general purpose furnaces up to 1600 °C
	pore size distribution		seger cone determination
	Youngs modulus		thermal shock resistance
	abrasion resistance		thermal expansion

Testing facilities are in accordance to ISO, EN, ASTM and PRE standards.
The Gouda Technical Centre co-operates with several universities, institutes and customers all over the world.
